Juniors and seniors are encouraged to attend this event. Prom dates are also
invited. You do not have to attend prom to attend Project Celebration.
What happens at Project Celebration?
Some highlights of past years' parties: casino games, inflatable obstacle course,
miniature golf, live bands, lots of food and raffle prizes! A caricature artist
will draw your picture and a DJ will entertain you with music. All of this and
more for only $5!
How can you help?
Parents....encourage your students to attend as a safe alternative to the "private
parties". Show your support as a parent or a business by vol¬unteering
time, donating cash, merchandise, or gift certificates for use during our raffle
drawings. Checks can be sent to MHSPTSA Project Celebration, P. O. Box 603,
Lewisville, TX 75067. Our planning committee meets the first Monday of every
month, at 8:00 p.m. at Marcus, Room DUO.

be a 2006 high school graduate and member of the Marcus PTSA, prior to January
1, 2006. Selection is based upon a variety of factors that emphasize merit,
not simply academic standing or financial need. Merit is demonstrated through
evidence of motivation, school and community involvement, and a desire to succeed.
An application will be included in the December newsletter. Application forms
will also be available in the Counselors office in January. For more information
please call Pam Nelson at 972-317-7057. Again, the student must be a member

Trash to Cash
Do you have a computer printer at home or at the office? Do you have a big printer
at the office? Do you shop at Albertsons? Do you buy products with Box Tops
for Education logos on them? If you said yes to any of these things you may
be throwing money in the trash. Marcus High School has several programs that
generate cash from your trash.
The first program is a recycling program from "Texas Cash for Texas Kids".
For each used computer ink jet cartridge we will receive one to three dollars.
The large printer cartridges are worth from five to ten dollars a piece. They
are picked up from the school with prepaid shipping labels; and a check is written
to us the same week. This program generated over $2000 the first year at Lamar
Middle School, with only 1/4 of our student population. If you or your parents
work for an insurance company, doctor's office, lawyer's office, Title Company,
or work at conventions, they may have access to hundreds of dollars worth of
empty cartridges a year. Cartridges can be dropped off at the office or at the
copy center in C 107.
The second program is Albertsons' Community Partners. This rebate program donates
as cash to Marcus High School 1 - 4% of your purchases. The organization number
for Marcus High School is 49001003919. This comes to us a quarterly check that
Mr. Rogers can use where ever it is needed. You can link your Albertsons savings
card to the school one of three ways:
l.In the store you can fill out a form and submit it at the service desk.
2.On line you can go to www.albertsons.com . Click on "In the Community"
then on the Community Partners logo link. Once you
log in, click on "Sign me up".
3.Or you can pick up a form at Albertsons and complete and mail it from your
home.
The third program is Box Tops for Education. All you do is clip the Box Tops
for Education logos from participating products and drop them in the collection
box in the office. While we cannot redeem them ourselves, we swap them with
Flower Mound Elementary for their ink jet and printer cartridges and mail them
in with the ones we collect.
With tight budgets and cut backs from Austin and being a donor in the "Robin
Hood Plan", every little bit helps with locally generated funds. So please
let your trash be our cash.
