About Academic Decathlon
   Academic Decathlon is a national organization in which students compete in ten different academic areas:  math, science social studies, language/literature, essay, speech, interview, economics, music, and art.
   Super Quiz is a competition in which one of the ten categories is transformed into a Super Quiz competition topic wherein students learn about a facet of the general topic in great detail.  During competition, teams compete both in written testing and in a public setting. 
   The other academic areas also are structured each year to reflect an overarching theme. 
   The team is made up of A students, B students, and C students.  In competition, students compete with other students in their GPA designation.
