MARCUS MARAUDER ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Check out our Spring Accomplishments, New Members and New Officers!

State Tennis Tournament

Madison Carr & Kyle Barnes were state quarter-finalists in mixed doubles. Congratulations! We are so proud you!

Marcus AFJROTC earned the Distinguished Unit Award (DUA) for the fourth consecutive year!

The DUA is limited to the best of the best of our nation’s 882 Air Force Junior ROTC units located in high schools across the United States and overseas with enrollment of more than 115,000 cadets.

The award recognizes AFJROTC units that have performed above and beyond normal expectations and distinguished themselves through academic excellence, physical fitness, drill expertise, and outstanding service to their school and community. During the 2011-2012 School Year the cadets volunteered over 2100 hours of community service in support of our school, district, and local community.

This is the highest award the Air Force can bestow upon an AFJROTC unit. A huge congratulations to the Mighty Marauder Cadets on winning this prestigious award for School Year 2011-2012!

Debate Wins Semi-Finals and Final Rounds

After 3 prelims, both Taylor DeWitt and Daniel Becker advanced to the Quarterfinal round with winning records. We arrived bright and early Saturday morning ready to debate the Quarters round, only to learn that Marcus had the unfortunate luck of the draw. We were matched together in the bracket which meant only one student could advance. Daniel (a Junior) acted as a true gentleman and teammate, and GRACIOUSLY allowed Taylor (a senior) to take his spot and advance to Semis. We are so proud of these kids! Our team of students is wonderful.

Please congratulate Taylor and Daniel for their effort and teamwork. GO MARAUDERS!

Also, Taylor will debate at the State UIL Contest May 21-22. Good Luck!
